Strong winds around the Baltic

Wednesday
Low pressure located west of Iberia produces largely cloudy skies and a little rain for Portugal, whilst much of Spain stays fine and warm, temperatures reaching 25C in the south thanks to a general southerly flow. A good amount of fair weather across the Mediterranean, although a chance of local showers around coasts of Italy. Sunshine for Greece and western Turkey, temperatures around 17C.
A weak cold front across France and the Alps produces a zone of cloudy skies, but the south & west of France will be dry and warm at 20C. Cooler toward the Benelux region, only 11C. A few showers moving in from the North Sea into the Netherlands. Sunny spells and scattered showers for Germany. Some rain or mountain snow for Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but mainly dry for south-eastern Europe. Low pressure centred over the southern Baltic brings blustery winds, frequent showers and chilly conditions to Poland and the Baltic states. A period of snowfall for southern parts of Sweden and Finland. Mainly fair but cold elsewhere across Scandinavia. An area of rain pushes east across Belarus and Ukraine, preceded by snow.

Thursday
Most of the Iberian peninsula should stay dry, sunny and warm. Risk of heavy showers close to coast of Portugal. Temperatures into the upper 20s Celsius in southern Spain. Broken cloud and sunshine for southern France and the western Mediterranean. Showers scattered around Italy, whilst persistent rain affects parts of the Balkans, also Romania. Dry for Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey.
High pressure across central & north-western Europe brings a fair but cool day to France and Germany, some fog patches in the morning, highs 9 to 12C. A few showers possible for the Netherlands. Low pressure weakens across eastern Europe, where it remains cool with a few showers for Poland and the Baltic states. Broken cloud and lighter winds for Sweden. A few areas of showers around the west coast of Norway. A cold wind for Finland. Temperatures across most of Scandinavia will remain close to freezing.
