Cool or cold northern & eastern Europe

Thursday
High pressure brings quiet, cool weather to central-northern Europe, whilst shallow areas of low pressure bring mixed conditions elsewhere, although there is plenty of dry weather across the continent.
Most of the Iberian peninsula will be dry, sunny and warm, highs topping 25C for southern Costas. Risk of heavy showers grazing the coast of Portugal as low pressure sits to the west over the Atlantic. Broken cloud and sunshine for southern France and the western Mediterranean. A front brings a zone of persistent rain to central Italy and the Balkans. Showers around southern Italy. Some rain too for Romania. Dry for Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey.
A fair but cool day for France and Germany, some fog patches in the morning, highs 9 to 12C. A few showers possible for the Netherlands. Low pressure toward western Russia brings scattered showers to eastern Europe - cool and breezy for Poland and the Baltic states, 3 to 6C. Showers around the west coast of Norway and Denmark, perhaps also the Baltic coast of Sweden, but much of Scandinavia will be dry with broken cloud - temperatures close to freezing.

Friday
Areas of thundery showers affect southern Portugal and south-western Spain, whilst warm and dry conditions continue for eastern Spain. Dry across the western Mediterranean, southern France, Italy and the Alps, broken cloud and some sunshine. Showery rain for Greece , the Greek Islands and western Turkey. Crete and Cyprus should stay dry.
Fairly cloudy for northern-central Europe as fronts spread from the north, bringing a little rain to northern France. Cloudy with a little drizzle for Germany. High pressure across eastern Europe gives widespread dry and cool weather to countries including Poland, Hungary and Romania.
Low pressure over Britain and the North Sea brings unsettled conditions to coastal regions in the Netherlands, plus much of southern Scandinavia - blustery winds and some persistent rain or showers, turning to snow over the mountains in southern parts of Norway and Sweden. Further north across Scandinavia it remains cold but largely dry.
