Very warm around Black Sea


Wednesday
A cool and unsettled pattern across the continent. Two separate areas of low pressure lie across central & south-eastern Europe, whilst high pressure is centred over northern Scandinavia, and also to the west of Iberia.
Showery rain for northern Spain, and a band of showers affects Portugal. Fairly warm and some sunshine in southern Iberia, around 20C. Heavy rain spreads east across France in the morning, accompanied by blustery winds, turning to snow into the western Alps. Showery around the Biscay coast. Areas of showers across the Mediterranean. Unsettled for Greece, Bulgaria and Romania with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures up to 25C around the Black Sea. Wet in western Ukraine, whilst this system brings snow to eastern Poland.
Rain affects the Low Countries and spreads into western Germany, whilst further east should stay dry. The fair weather extends across the Czech Republic, eastern Alps and the northern Balkans. A few snow showers for coastal areas around the Baltic, some spreading inland across Sweden. Much of Norway is dry. Remaining very cold with easterly winds across Scandinavia, temperatures widely near or below freezing.


Thursday
Shallow low pressure with various centres affects much of Europe. A dry and fairly mild day for much of Spain and Portugal, warmest around coasts in the south, highs 17 to 20C. Dry with sunny spells for Italy. A westerly breeze across the Mediterranean coasts and islands. Persistent rain for the Balkan coastline, including western Greece . Dry for the Greek Islands, Turkey and Cyprus.
Heavy rain for central France, and snow for the western Alps, including much of Switzerland. Some rain for the Low Countries. Cool with scattered wintry showers for Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, 3 to 7C. Largely dry with some sunshine for Poland, Hungary and Romania. A period of snow spreads north across Belarus into western Russia in the early hours, whilst heavy rain affects central Ukraine. A few snow flurries across Scandinavia, mainly around coasts, and remaining cold with easterly winds around the Baltic as high pressure stays centred toward the far north.
