Snow for western Alps

Pleasantly warm south-western Spain & Portugal


Monday
A period of rain preceded by snow moves into central Europe from the north-west. Heavy snow may affect the western Alps most of the day. Skies slowly brightening for the Low Countries and Germany. High pressure across Spain and Portugal brings a fine day to many areas, highs 15C in the south-west. Rain moves onto the Biscay coast from the north.
Italy and much of the Mediterranean will be dry, although local showers are possible. Rain and mountain snow for southern France, but improving in the north with sunshine breaking through. Unsettled around Greece with some heavy showers, and snow over the mountains. Quiet weather for central-eastern Europe. An area of low pressure brings rain and snow to Ukraine.
Chilly with frost and fog for Poland and southern Scandinavia. Southwesterly winds bring a lift in temperature for northern Norway. Patchy snow for central Sweden and Finland.


Tuesday
High pressure extends across central & western Europe, bringing plenty of dry weather. Variable cloud and some low-lying fog. Temperatures 3 to 5C for Germany, 5 to 8C for France, but closer to freezing for eastern Europe. Snow flurries for south-eastern Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. A zone of snow is likely to affect Bulgaria, southern Romania and Serbia.
Dry for most of Greece , but rather cool at 10C or below. Dry for Italy. Showery for the islands of the western Med, perhaps eastern Spain. Sunny and warm for Portugal and western Spain, highs 17C.
A risk of freezing rain for Norwary and western Sweden as fronts move in from the Atlantic. Milder temperatures around the west coast of Norway. Staying dry around the Baltic, and below freezing for Finland.
