Milder southwesterlies for Scandinavia


Tuesday
High pressure extends across central & western Europe, bringing plenty of dry weather. Variable cloud and some low-lying fog. Temperatures 3 to 5C for Germany, 5 to 8C for France, but closer to freezing for eastern Europe. Snow flurries for south-eastern Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. Drizzly around North Sea coasts of Germany and Denmark. A zone of snow is likely to affect Bulgaria, southern Romania and Serbia.
Dry for most of Greece , but rather cool at 10C or below. Dry for Italy. Showery for the islands of the western Med, perhaps also eastern Spain. Sunny and warm for Portugal and western Spain, highs 17C.
A risk of freezing rain for Norway and western Sweden as fronts move in from the Atlantic. Mild, wet and windy around the west coast of Norway. Staying dry around the Baltic, and below freezing for Finland.


Wednesday
Pressure remains high across Europe, maintaining a lot of dry weather. Weak fronts drifting into central areas bring some drizzly rain or light snow for southern Germany, eastern France and the Alps. Local showers over the western Med. Staying dry across Iberia and western France. Warmest temperatures will again be found in Portugal, 15C or locally warmer.
Dry for Italy, the Balkans and much of Greece. Chilly and generally stagnant weather for eastern Europe, with some low cloud and fog. Patchy snow for Poland and Ukraine.
Southwesterly winds bring relatively mild weather to Scandinavia. Fronts trailing eastwards bring outbreaks of rain to Norway and Sweden. Some snow for northern Finland. Windy around the Baltic.
