Wind and rain northern France and central Europe, drier southern areas

On Saturday and more of a north and south divide in the weather is expected to develop with some drier and more settled conditions developing across Iberia, including Spain and Portgual as higher pressure develops here. Showers persist through through the Med, while longer spells of rain are still to be expected across Greece and surrounding countries. The unsettled weather patterns will, however, continue across much of northern Europe with further wet and windy weather across the British Isles and down into parts of France, while additional wintry weather is expected across much of Scandinavia.


New Year's Eve
Showers bursts of rain in northwest Spain and Portugal. Plenty of sunshine to come through the Balearics and across much of Italy. Greece and Turkey should be dry with some sunshine to come here.
Windy with cloud and rain affecting the north of France. More wind, rain and cloud in northern parts of Germany as well as the Low Countries. Windy across Poland with heavy periods of rain. Drier in southern Germany and Hungary as well as Austria and Switzerland.
Rain and cloud for Denmark, some of the rain heavy. The Baltic States should be dry at first but some rain or slet here later. Sunny and dry for Finland and stay dry with plenty of sunshine in central and northern Sweden. Rain and snow arriving in the south of Norway with some wintry showers in western Norway.
