Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Often unsettled across much of Europe, but particularly across more northern areas where it will be cold as well

Friday 29th December
Into Friday and it is unsettled weather that will dominate across much of Europe as low pressure is the dominant feature. Many areas will see some rain and showers, especially across the British Isles and down into France, while more showery weather dominates through Central Europe including Germany. Sleet and snow is expected across much of Scandinavia, but particularly across Norway and Finland. Showery conditions are expected through much of the Med, along with some longer spells of rain across parts of Greece.

Saturday 30th December
On Saturday and more of a north and south divide in the weather is expected to develop with some drier and more settled conditions developing across Iberia, including Spain and Portgual as higher pressure develops here. Showers persist through through the Med, while longer spells of rain are still to be expected across Greece and surrounding countries. The unsettled weather patterns will, however, continue across much of northern Europe with further wet and windy weather across the British Isles and down into parts of France, while additional wintry weather is expected across much of Scandinavia.
