High pressure extends across Europe, maintaining a lot of dry weather. Weak fronts drifting into central areas bring some drizzly rain or light snow for southern Germany, eastern France and the Alps. Local showers over the western Med. Staying dry across Iberia and western France. Warmest temperatures found in Portugal, 15C or locally higher.
Dry for Italy, the Balkans and much of Greece. Chilly and generally stagnant weather for eastern Europe, with low cloud, fog and frost. Patchy snow for Poland and Ukraine. Fairly mild and bright for the Low Countries and northern France.
Southwesterly winds bring relatively mild weather to Scandinavia. Fronts trailing eastwards bring outbreaks of rain to Norway and Sweden, locally freezing rain. Some snow for northern Finland. Windy around the Baltic.


Thursday
A strong area of high pressure will be centred around Biscay, bringing settled weather to France and Spain. Pleasantly warm again for Portugal. A few showers for the western Mediterranean. Dry and bright for northern Italy and the western Alps. Windy for southern Italy and the central Med. A risk of heavy rain for southern Greece , with snow over the mountains. Generally dry for the Balkans and area toward the Black Sea.
A front spreads from the north-west across north & central Europe, bringing rain and blustery winds to Germany, preceded by snow for Poland and the Baltic states. Some snow and rain reaching Austria and the Czech Republic. Patchy rain for Belgium and the Netherlands. Dry for Sweden and Denmark. Snow showers for west & northern Norway.
