Showers in eastern Europe

Tuesday
Hot and dry across Spain and Portugal, topping 40C again toward the southwest. Fresher toward the Biscay coast. Local showers around the Pyrenees. Fine and warm across the Mediterranean. Risk of local thunderstorms for mainland Greece and northern Turkey
. Scattered showers for the Alps, risk thunder for Austria. An odd shower for northern Italy. Sunny spells and pleasantly warm for France and the Low Countries. Much of Germany stays dry, but expect scattered showers in the north, which also affect Denmark and Poland. Some more organised rain for the southern Baltic and Sweden. Showers inland for Norway, drier and sunnier near the coast. Mainly dry for northern Sweden. Local showers forming over Finland, warm and quite humid, up to 25C.

Wednesday
Hot and dry across Spain and Portugal, again likely for many areas to get close to 40C centrally and further south. Local heavy showers around the Pyrenees and one or two centrally at risk. Fine and warm across the Mediterranean. Higher chance of showers popping up through north and east Italy with one or two local thunderstorms for mainland Greece and northern Turkey.
Scattered showers for the Alps, otherwise many will see sunny spells and feel pleasantly warm for France and Germany. The risk of some patchy light rain in Belgium but mostly dry across Holland. A few scattered showers affecting Poland into Hungary but most staying dry.
Largely dry with sunny spells as a weak ridge is over Denmark today. Some rain moving into western areas of Norway, drier further east. Largely dry with sunshine across Sweden, while Finland and the Baltics see sunny spells and scattered showers.
