Thundery rain developing for France & Germany


Friday
Hot and dry for Spain and Portugal, topping 30C in the south-west. Nearer 25C in the east & north. Very warm too across France, up to 28C in the south-west, 23C in the north. Plenty of sunshine for the western Mediterranean. A front brings patchy rain to Brittany and English Channel coasts, some rain reaching Belgium and the Netherlands, turning heavier later. Plenty of dry and sunny weather across central & eastern Europe. Areas of thunderstorms over the Ionian Sea may affect coasts of southern Italy and mainland Greece . Brisk winds around the southern Black Sea and Aegean Sea. Around 20C in Hungary, 22C in Germany. Cooler for Poland and the Baltic states 15 to 18C. Some rain for southern Norway, with strong south-easterly winds. Rather murky for southern Scandinavia, but brighter toward the north.


Saturday
A frontal system develops across western Europe, bringing heavy falls of rain to western Germany, central and southern France and spreading into the western Alps. Some thundery bursts. Rain also affects Denmark and south-western Norway. Staying windy for southern Scandinavia. A few showers around the English Channel, but much of west & northern France becomes brighter as pressure builds into Biscay. Cooler than previous days here at 20C. Staying how across southern Spain and Portugal, 33C in Andalucia and the Algarve. Dry and sunny for Italy, the Balkans although a few thunderstorms may linger around the far south of Italy. Local showers for Greece. Extensive dry weather across eastern Europe and the Baltic region as high pressure remains in charge.
