Wet and windy northern Europe, fair to the south


Wednesday
Another mostly dry and bright day for Portugal and Spain though persistent light rain could affect the northern coast of Spain through the day. Early morning showers over the Balearics should clear to leave a dry and fine afternoon. Corsica, Sardinia and the northern half of Italy could see some heavy rain throughout the day on Wednesday while high winds and thundery showers should clear away from Greece and Turkey by the late afternoon.
A mixed day for France with showers becoming more widespread through the afternoon. These will be wintry in the southeast. Persistent rain for the Low Countries and western parts of Germany through Wednesday while Switzerland and Austria will likely see some snow. A mixed day of sunshine and showers for Poland and the Czech Republic though more persistent rain could edge into western areas through the late afternoon.
Another wet and windy day for Denmark while it will start cloudy for the Baltic States before a band of rain and snow sweeps eastward across the region. A mostly dry day for Finland though snow will edge into southern areas through the evening. Windy and wet for southern parts of Sweden and Norway with a mixture of rain, sleet and snow.

Thursday
Dry and sunny across Spain and Portugal. fair too in the Balearics. Showers for the south of Italy, but fair in central and northern parts of Italy. Greece will be cloudy and wet. Turkey will have some sunny spells but also showers in the east.
Wet and windy in much of central Europe. heavy periods of rain passing through France, germany and the Low Countries as well as into Germany. Breezy with sunny spells and showers across Poland. Hungary will be fair with sunny spells. Showers then rain in Austria and Switzerland, windy here as well.
Chilly with some showers or rain and sleet in Denmark. Windy with some cloud and rain affecting the Baltic States. Breezy with cloud and sleet or rain across Finland. Chilly with broken cloud and a few wintry showers in Sweden. Norway will be cold with sunshine and scattered snow showers.
