Heavy rain developing southern France
Much of Spain and Portugal will be dry and warm. Showers forming later for eastern Spain. Also generally dry across the Mediterranean and most of Italy with good amounts of sunshine. Dry too for Greece and Black Sea regions.
Low pressure moves northeastwards across eastern Europe, bringing heavy rain to Hungary, Slovakia, and southern Poland, with areas of thundery rain also extending into the northern Balkans, also across Germany, the Czech Republic and the eastern Alps. Quite cool under the rain for central-eastern Europe.
Dry across Switzerland, and a generally dry day across France, although a front moves in from the northwest to bring rain to Brittany. The Low Countries and much of Scandinavia will be dry, although patchy rain is likely to affect Denmark and far south of Norway. A warm southeasterly breeze for the Baltic states where the day stays dry, highs 25C Estonia, Latvia and southern Finland. A chance of thunderstorms forming for eastern Sweden and southwest Finland.
Low pressure is expected to form over the western Mediterranean, producing areas of heavy rain and thundery downpours for the Balearics, eastern Spain and southern France. Showery for northern Spain. A brisk northeasterly wind across Iberia. Dry toward the southwest, and high temperatures for Portugal, around 30C.
Low pressure also affects southern Scandinavia, with persistent rain for Denmark and northern coasts of Germany and Poland. Windy here too with a risk of gales. Showers extend into the Baltic states and Finland, and scattered showers are possible further north over the mountains of Norway and Sweden.
Meanwhile, central and eastern Europe lies beneath slack high pressure, resulting in plenty of dry weather and sunshine for north-central France, the Low Countries, much of Germany and the Alps, and extensively across eastern countries. Local showers for mainland Greece and the southern Balkans.
