Changeable for Scandinavia
High pressure builds across France, giving fair weather across southwest Europe. Hot and sunny for much of Spain and Portugal, topping 35C in the southwest of Iberia.
A risk of some frontal rain moving into northwest France. A mistral wind affects southeast France as low pressure sits over northern Italy. Unsettled with heavy, thundery showers for Italy, the Alps and Balkans. Areas of rain too for southern Germany, whilst high pressure to the north keeps northern Germany plus much of Poland and Denmark dry with sunny spells.
Southern Sweden will be dry, whilst the north and west of Scandinavia will be showery, locally frequent rain for Norway. A frontal zone brings rain to eastern Europe, with some heavy falls in places. Warm to the east of this around the Black Sea and eastern Mediterranean.
Dry and very warm again across Spain and Portugal. High pressure resides over west & southwest Europe. A lot of cloud for northern France, with a weak warm front producing drizzly rain, perhaps local heavier bursts in northeast France and Belgium. Patchy rain also extends into western Germany.
Slack pressure over central-southeastern Europe will generate further heavy and thundery downpours for Italy and the Balkans. A zone of wet weather also affects Romania and central Ukraine. Meanwhile Greece, the Aegean and Mediterranean islands will be generally dry and sunny.
Low pressure influences Scandinavia, bringing wind and rain to Norway and Sweden. Also very blustery for Denmark. Finland and the Baltic states should escape dry much of the day.
