Hot and sunny in the south, but rain affecting northern Europe

Wednesday
Heat builds again across Iberia, well into the 30s for much of Portugal, and approaching 40C in southern Spain. Staying hot and dry across the Mediterranean. Thunderstorms breaking out for the Alps, and also the mountains of Romania. Thundery rain also develops for western Ukraine and Belarus. High pressure influences France, the Low Countries and Germany, bringing a fair and warm day. Fair too in Hungary and the Balkans, around 33C. A front passing north & east brings rain to Poland and the Czech Republic, plus rain also spreads across Sweden. Brighter for Norway, although risk of a few showers. Rain later reaches the Baltic states, but Finland should stay dry all day, 22C.

Thursday
A fair day in Sain and Portugal on Thursday with plenty of sunshine. It will be fine across the Balearics and through Italy too, more sunshine to come here and feeling very warm. Greece should be mostly dry although there is the risk of a few thunderstorms in Turkey.
Rain and cloud affecting the north of France, but more central and southern areas will be dry with lots of sunshine. A cloudy and damp day in the Low Countries, although Germany should be dry with sunny spells. More sunny spells in Poland, with Austria, Hungary and Switzerland all being dry with sunny spells.
Fair in Denmark with sunny spells here and staying dry in the Baltic States and Finland too. Rain affecting western Norway, some of it heavy.
