Plenty of heavy showers for the Mediterranean

Today
A very cold day across central and eastern Europe with sun zero high temperatures from Germany eastward into Russia and south eastward into the Adriatic Region and northward across Scandinavia. A wet day with rain across England. An area of rain preceded by snow spreads into France with rain spreading into the Low Countries later in the day. Mainly fair and dry across Portugal and Spain but some rain may reach northern Spain later. Cold with outbreaks of snow across Germany, Poland, Austria, The Czech Republic, The Baltic States into Russia. Much of Scandinavia looks dry, sunny but very cold. Very cold but chiefly dry across the Adriatic Region. There is a risk of snow across Italy. Frequent, heavy showers to affect much of the Mediterranean. Rain, sleet and snow is expected across western Turkey, dry in the east. Sunny and cold today across Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and the Ukraine. Strong winds are expected in the central Mediterranean.



Monday
The very cold weather continues across much of Europe today. Dry and sunny across Norway, Sweden and Denmark with outbreaks of snow expected across Finland, The Baltic States and Russia. Cold but dry across the Ukraine, much of Poland, Belarus, The Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. Some snow to affect Germany and Austria today. Heavier snow is forecast across Italy, Bulgaria, Serbia and Bosnia along with Greece. Heavy rain is forecast for western Turkey with the east staying dry but cold. Another very showery day to come from the Balearics eastward across the Mediterranean. Cold but largely dry across France, Spain and Portugal. Mostly sunny and dry across Belgium and Holland. Very windy across the Mediterranean.
